It must be one of those rare scenarios where the the MSDN documentation is better than any book available on the subject. This book is not comprehensive - such as author has no explanation of OfferMessage? Author recommend using Encapsulate, but no example or explanation of it. In section 4.1.3 author talks about how he likes to build his own blocks that have multiple inputs and/or outputs - how about an actual code example? May be it is work in progress?
This book is well written and comes with many useful examples which makes it easy to understand the DataFlow advantages.
A good introduction to Dataflow. We need a text that draws a cleaner set of distinctions between reactive extensions and dataflow; special attention should be given to how to best use dataflow and RX together in wpf and xaml and server side applications.
I really was hoping this book would have more practical examples of using dataflow blocks. While I found the book somewhat helpful, the examples were not much better that what I could find online. I was really looking for real-world examples and applications of dataflow technology.
